i have been at AWS since Dec 2021, it is not what i expected . received an inMail from a google recruiter inviting me to interview for a recruiting role. what should i expect TC wise for Google and what level will i come in at? i know 3 months is not very long at a job but i’m feeling really burnt out at AWS. YOE: 3 years in May Current L4 recruiter at AWS in SC TC AT AWS: 87K (year 1) current base: 68K Bonus year 1: $25K year 2: 18K stock: 50K over 4 years, (0% Year 1)
If you ask this question even without any info people would suggest google or any other company.. that’s because Amazon work culture sucks!!
What’s TC of Google offer?
Don't think OP is that far along, just seem to have received a message and don't know if they should respond?
i haven’t interviewed yet. am hoping someone from google can give me an idea of TC for someone with similar YOE
How is your TC so low at AWS?
whoops base is that low lol tc is still low for the amount of work i’ve been doing
Which location?
Go to Google. Tc seems unfair
i was told it was low bc of my “zone” but like if i had known how much work i would’ve asked for l5 which is closer to 100k base
^^agreed. Ask them for at least 160k total comp.
Just wondering, as I have no friends that are recruiters. Why are you burned out? Do you have to find and call candidates 24/7?
We have several steps for the process and 3+ATS we have to use and i review close to 200-400 resumes a day, as well as move them through the workflows and i’m working 50-60 hours a week for what i think is low pay
Omg... do all your recruiter coworkers also have to review 200-400 resumes and work that long? And for each candidate, which part do you have to work with them till? After they’re done with phone screen and hand off to another recruiter?
You said AWS is not what you expected... What is the biggest surprise?
Did you not read Blind before accepting the Amazon / AWS offer.... PIP can commence from the third month so hand in your resignation now and go with Rule 2 below: Rule 1 = Avoid Amazon / AWS Rule 2 = Avoid any companies which hire ex Amazon / AWS managers Rule 3 = Follow Rule 1 and In your next company join the hiring panels to keep Rule 2 enforced You are welcome……
You answered your own question by saying that you're burnt out at aws
yes i’m just struggling with the fact that it’s only been 3 months
