How does my offer rank?
I got a return offer for a full time MLE position at John Deere(their Data Rotational Program). First year TC is around 107k(with sign on), but the 401k match is really good - around 233% match up to 6%, and they also contribute 4% of base to a pension. I’m glad to even have a job in this market, but I felt like my TC was a bit low(not that I have any leverage anyway because I have not other offers). A benefit is the job is fully remote(I’ll be working remote in the Midwest) and they give me the opportunity to go to various conferences throughout the year. What do you guys think about this offer? I see new grads getting 150k+ on this app and I get jealous, but my cost of living is way lower for me so it sort of bridges the gap. Any opinions about the offer or John Deere as a company?
YOE and level are important with offer evals. By return offer I'll assume you are a new grad and not a boomerang. If it's a new-grad job, 6 figures is very good.
Take it and get the experience. Hop over to big tech after a few years triple your TC
Yeah this. The comp seems low, we don’t know YOE but the experience would be great for your career.
YOE is 0, I am graduating in December and I would start in January

This is a good offer in an emerging field where you have no experience (yet). Crank it out for 2 years max …and jump ship to double your TC. If you WLB is good, I recommend Leet Coding and or working on side projects to boost your hard skills.

i am in industry for 2+ years and i m not at 6 figures, so its damn good
It's a good offer in this market. Take it, gain a few years experience and then move on if you are not satisfied with your career progression.
It’s a job. If it’s what you got take it and keep interviewing for more tc if you arent happy
