Hi, i recently applied to Adobe firefly PM role assuming that firefly being their GenAI product has high chances of learning and growth. I have passed the screening and meeting two product leaders (which is apparently the only 2 interviews ). Should I be worried given the PM interview process doesn’t seem too rigorous or well crafted or is that not generally an indicator of how good the opportunity is? Current TC : 250K
Feels odd compared to the extensive process across other companies. What questions were you asked during the interviews?
That’s exactly my concern too. I in the past have jumped the ship because I wanted to leave a company and ended up joining another simply because the interview process didn’t seem rigorous and it was easy to get in. The questions were generic around my background, projects I worked on, some scenario based question on user discovery to cross team collaboration to release strategy etc.
There was then the second round which discussed my analytical skills and went into details on success metrics I use and why
Some data points here: Internal interview for L5 SWE in firefly team: Technical interviews (coding, system design) are super easy, but it doesn’t mean the interviewer are satisfied. The interviewers are unhappy as they seem silly if the candidate answers the questions with ease. Team match: very harsh. It seems the hiring manager doesn’t believe that many techniques are transferable. (You may not be a good match as our team uses AWS but your team uses MS Azure.) Culture: internal discussion often refers to the team as toxic. (I think) firefly helped the Stock price of Adobe to gain more than $120 this year, though in my opinion FireFly doesn’t achieve any substantial goals. (Its performance is way behind midjourney. The sales data is unknown yet.)
Congrats!
Stfu and take it
Wow ! Hope you get a good night sleep :)
