I currently work at AWS doing marketing/social media. 5 YOE 130 TC easy team but 3 days a week will be required and enforced, plus my team doesn’t have large impacts on AWS brand/goals. I’m interviewing at Liberty Mutual for a social media job on their global brand and comms team doing employer social campaigns and promoting the brand with social campaigns on sustainability/partnerships/employee experience/etc. Comp has higher base but bonus instead of stocks, so TC probably will even out to about the same as my current TC. Job is fully remote. I didn’t picture working for insurance, but this role would get me experience managing brand campaigns on a central/global team which I feel would have greater impact and responsibilities. Would I be crazy to leave tech/ AWS for similar comp? I don’t want to pigeon hole myself in insurance but getting global brand experience (I hope) would be a stepping stone to future global brand teams at other big companies in tech and at other big brands. Plus a remote job is tempting as I’d like to move somewhere fun like San Diego while I’m still young (currently in Austin) #insurance #marketing #job #tech #libertymutual
Insurance can be interesting. Liberty is very woke, so you will be spending all days explaining how you guys need fewer white people. Look at their LinkedIn feed. If this js for you, good luck!

[India]You are dumb to think Tech people earn more than Govt employees these days
You can always switch back to tech, right?
