Advices on Facebook contractor hire

I have recently introduced to a very strong team of senior engineers who are doing several projects for FB Connectivity Lab via their own company (about 20-25 ppl). I haven't started talking about compensation yet but I wanted to take advices and comments from people here at Blind. I really like the types of things that Connectivity lab is doing and have been looking for positions but all positions are usually software engineer while I have more Communication Systems/DSP background. I initially thought that it would be a great opportunity for me to learn and work with Facebook. But the risk of working project-based and maybe unequal compensation and also being second-class citizent of FB are making me more negative to it. As everyone may know, cisco is also not in a good shape financially and there are going to be multiple phases of lay offs which looks like that I wouldn't be affected unless the entire business unit and products be cut (always been high performer but the risk is always there). My base salary at Cisco is 185k at grade 10. 15% bonus and about 40-50k RSU per year being vested. I also get about 40-50k this year reward for filing patents. So, I expect about 250-300k TC per year at cisco. As a fulltime employee of Cisco i have lots of perks that I am not sure a contractor employee would have at Facebook e.g. fitness center, childcare center, onsite doctors, etc... (I thing the free food is also available for contractor though :) ) Any advice or sharing experience would be greatly appreciated. #tech #offer #contractor

Following. I am also very keen on working with Facebook reality labs and if my interviews with them do not go well I am considering a contract position with them

1. What are the chances of a full time conversion? 2. Is there a difference in the quality of work assigned?

1. Slim 2. Depends if you are good at your job. I give my CWs the same work that I give my FTE leads but my current CWs are good. Other teams I’ve noticed have garbage CWs and we even had one but exited them
