Looking to move into Fintech. How's the company? Culture? IPO anytime soon?
π Dumb managers
Mind elaborate?
Theyβre all about young people, theyβre aging as F and canβt understand the importance of data consistency

I like it there. Smart people everywhere, lots of ex-FANG looking to do more interesting work. It does skew a bit young, but I'm older than the median and don't feel out of place. My manager is solid, and it's not hard to switch teams. Things do move fast, though! π
What age/yoe are the EMs / Senior EMs roughly ?
It varies very widely depending on your team. There are some very experienced folks and some younger people who have less experience. Hard to generalize!
Very likely Affirm will IPO in ~3 years.
The whole world could change in 3 years , itβs a very long horizon
Agreed. Though I don't think there's any point considering pre-IPO companies w/o 2-5 year horizon. You get rewarded if you join sooner. The risk is if the IPO doesn't happen/do well.
Fintech is a flop area right now. Though honestly, there are too many players in this area and that is the bigger issue. Its a hard business model , with lot of fraud - so people like paypal , square or apple - or visa or mastercard and banks have cornered this and there will be more consolidation going forward. Overall , long term fintech is an area that will never die, however companies will not stay independent.
None of these god forsaken fin tech companies will ever IPO.
I interviewed there. Seemed like a good place. Really young people though, I suspect that's what they passed. No feedback on that though. Interview process OK. Product couldn't be more boring.
My impression was similar: a lot of young people
