https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/soundcloud-gears-up-sale-with-1bn-price-tag-sought-report/ TLDR: SoundCloud getting ready to be sold at around $1B after being profitable for a year straight. Their sources of revenue are subscription, ads and artist services, basically same as Spotify (although Spotify is definitely not exploiting the third one, almost at all). Do you see Spotify being the next in line for a sale as soon as it gets consistent profitability? The market cap is surely different, as Spot is now valued around $38B but it would still be peanuts for companies like Microsoft, Google, Meta or others. Wdyt? #tech #soundcloud #spotify
If Google buys Spotify, it’ll be the death of Spotify. They’ll integrate it into YouTube Music, triple the subscription price, then kill it in 5 years to replace it with YouTube+ Music Ultra Premium McSpecial
Anyone else ever wonder at how similar SoundCloud’s and CloudFlare’s branding are?

Soundcloud is much smaller, and Spotify could buy them. On the other hand, $35Bn is not pocket change even for the companies you mentioned. Even if it was, if Democrats return, companies would be starting right down the barrel of the antitrust gun.
