Some got offered new positions, some were offered temporary transition positions for a set period of time before they would be eliminated and most were laid off the day the acquisition closed. They still got their WARN payouts and severance.
At Symantec, if you were laid off you didn’t make it over to Broadcom, you stayed at the “remainco” and got your severance from them (now NortonLifelock).
Were they kept on payroll?
Why would they be kept on payroll if they are laid off?
5 years after acquisition my salary still comes from CA
Interesting. Did all your system switch over?
What this person means is the business entity that was set up for the software side of Broadcom is “CA, inc “ because that was the first acquisition. Your paycheck will likely come from it because Broadcom is cheap and won’t do a separate legal entity just to update the name for your new business. Your paycheck and all contracts/invoices you do on the company’s behalf will likely be for “CA, inc.” The other side of the house is Broadcom Corp, I think. It’s a thing. Vendors put the wrong name on invoices all the time (“Bill to Broadcom”instead of “CA, Inc”) and we have to get them revised or we can’t process it.
There have been no layoffs yet.
