What kind of work does the "advanced analytics" team typically do on a day to day? Is it just throwing data around in internally tooling and doing a bunch of testing until it works (more stats heavy vs. DS? I do want to eventually try to enter the industry but lack the consumer analytics background with testing.. TC: peenuts YOE: 8 #airbnb #analytics
Following - applying to those roles as well
It's a new org so somewhat up in the air, but it's explicitly less technical/stats-heavy than core DS. I'd expect lots of SQL and data viz, plus potentially some A/B testing depending on the team.
What does core DS do now ? Modeling ?
Seems like an opportunity to pay less salary than what Airbnb used to do before for DataScientist, Analytics roles ?? Can anyone from Airbnb confirm. Previously DS, Analytics seemed to be the top title/ pay anyone can get in data/product analytics
This is what I was thinking too. I haven’t seen a DS Analytics job posting from Airbnb in a while
why join a company's data team whose CEO/founders don't believe in data to make decisions?
Why do you say that?
Anyone here have an update on TC and scope of work?
I would assume "Advanced Analytics" is less stats heavy than DS...
