Airbnb G9 vs Meta E4
I’ve been contacted by a recruiter for Airbnb G9/L5 ML Engineer only after I received offer (E4) from FB and Pinterest. I told my recruiter I’ve received an oral offer from FB and we need to move very fast. But it seems like Airbnb schedule each interview two weeks apart anyway. Now I feel like it is going to be very hard to hear back from Airbnb without losing patience from my other offers. Given Airbnb has a slow promotion. Is it worth to exhaust every resource to wait for that higher level offer? Notes: FB offer already at E4 band maximum. I also know it is impossible to schedule calibration for FB E5 given my YOE. YOE2 TC240

FB had worst stock price crash ever 😂 in last 1 month (indirectly reducing TC) FB is speculated to cause suicidal thoughts in teen and got exposed by internal whistleblower FB wind down their crypto operations due to too much regulatory concerns FB user count is dropping and too many competitors
My wife worked at Airbnb for 2 years. The culture is ridiculous. Every team has a forced distribution, 15% do not meet. It's enforced at team level, so the manager just pick the unfortunate ones. In some teams, people take turns to bite the bullets. in other teams, people back stab each other to make others look bad. I would not recommend Airbnb.
You are talking about Airbnb at Beijing, right?
Are you sure you're not just describing Meta? Airbnb is much kinder than Meta has been during perf season

Are you PhD? YOE2 for L5 is equally hard for Airbnb, I’d just go with Meta E4 if you already have an offer.
