Airbnb RSU

Wondering how Airbnb calculates RSUs—in the offer letter there is no mention of RSU value but rather translated into number of shares. Since it’s pre-IPO how can you determine if that valuation is accurate because it seems fairly high value per share. TC: 219K YOE: 0-1

How the fuck can it be millions per share?

Very relevant answer for a question about Airbnb stocks 👏

Did you contact the recruiter to find out the value. Also 219K is Airbnb offer or your current company. If you can post number of shares it would be great too

Yeah contacted them and was told that’s the share value is that value pre-IPO but no details beyond that. And TC is for Airbnb not Amazon.

Also it was around 1800 shares

Private companies have internal valuation done through tha ird party company which they use as a proxy. Talk to your recruiter to find out the latest valuation per share and use that number to calculate the total $. No one knows what would be the actual price post the company becomes public but internal valuation is a good approximation for the share value.
