Alexa Ring integration is trash

I bought my mom a ring and an echo show for Christmas so she could see who’s at her door and talk to them. We also connected it to the portal she already has. This is my first foray into Alexa and I can honestly say it’s the worst software I’ve ever used. I’ll never buy another Alexa device again. It’s complete trash. Each device is missing random features. The routines could be powerful but have huge, random, gaps that make it nearly unusable for the simplest use cases. On top of that the echo show is too busy showing ads and weather and there’s no easy way to quickly view the live camera feed if she wants to. I may just replace all this shit with Google stuff if I can find some way to test that out first. This had so much potential but is so garbage. Axe the entire division. That’s where we can meet our pip quota this year. Also. Why the fuck can’t you stop Alexa from making noise when a command is heard? Every time a squirrel runs by the echo show screams “Okay” as it boots up the live feed of the video. Fucking annoying.

Should I have bought your mom a ring, too? I thought there was no commitment involved.

I should’ve posted just to the Amazon chat to avoid the mouth breathers

If any PMs stumble across this. These are some features that actually would be useful. Wi-Fi live feed stream so that we can have a monitor that’s always showing live feed without chewing up server bandwidth. When the ring doorbell is pressed it calls my mom’s phone and lets her chat with the doorbell easily without fumbling around the shittiest apps of all time. If that’s not possible, when the doorbell rings it texts her a screenshot of who’s at the door and a link to bring her right to the app. Alexa routines should be able to unmute a mic, mute a mic, send an announcement to the ring, integrate with portal and other third party devices. The Alexa beep boops and command acknowledgments should be mutable in routines so that automated shit doesn’t interrupt us all the time.

What you listed is available with Google devices. I have the Nest doorbell with the hub inside. They're integrated with the home app. Any doorbell press shows up on the hub and app. In addition, I also mounted a hub motion camera over the driveway. To extend the network, I added a couple of Google mesh. They're all configurable. Motion sensor captures an image but I turned off notifications. They're saved if I want to view them later.
