been an Alexa customer for a long time.. I have about 10 devices sprinkled across the home. I cannot fathom why Alexa won't let you 1. announce/message to a specifc room or group. announcements have to blast everywhere and disturb everyone 2. when you get an announcement you can't simply reply back, you have to send an announcement back and blast it everywhere and disturb everyone both are features google home has.. like wtf! is it a technical issue or PMs don't think users need this?
Voice assistants are just crappy
You can reply back, by saying “Alexa, reply” within 5 seconds. The time is due to the context carryover of what Alexa reply means. Secondly the announcement to a room is built into the API, however not enabled.
I have tried the reply, it never works! was this added newly? why is the message or announce to room not enabled?

Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
Had recurring issues with alexa on smallest of things. Bought many as they sell it so cheap. Finally decided to get rid of all echo devices and move to google ecosystem. Best decision ever. Finally I get an answer when I ask a question.
wish they had a awesome hot word like Alexa instead of the clumsy ok google
