I'm a scientist at Alexa currently. I'm contemplating exploring options at AWS. Pros of AWS - The research output of the AWS team is better and a lot of scientists at Alexa don't seem to be have a great idea of what they're doing - a few people in the AWS team seem high quality though I don't know about the rest. The argument for staying is I can try and publish papers at Alexa in a team I'm used to (so possibly more time to do that especially as I've heard AWS can be intense) and try for Google research or something in a few years. #datascience #researchscientist

Don't know about AWS science as much. But aws people I've spoken to always said their schedule is gruelling and wlb is shit. Maybe it could be team specific, but you shouldn't move without finding out. I've heard positive things about alexa comparatively. Even currently on a lookout for positions at alexa, even though aws has loads.
