I had my SDM virtual on-site interview last week and all my rounds except the hiring manager went very well. Hiring manager round was okay not bad. Two days later, I have received the below email from recruiter. Excerpt from that email. The interview team has reviewed the feedback and after careful consideration will not be moving forward with an offer at this time. While Amazon does not provide feedback as mentioned in our prep call, we all enjoyed learning more about you and hope that you also enjoyed your process with us in exploring our organization and this role. We encourage you to keep your profile and contact information up to date on http://www.amazon.jobs/ so you can be considered for other roles in the future. I have couple of questions. 1) Is this a standard email for all rejections? 2) I have emailed recruiter how soon can I apply and there was no response. How long should I wait before I can be considered for other roles? #amazon #sdmamazon
Standard email. If they liked something and need that skill then you may get a call soon.
Looks standard. Standard cool off is 12 months
12 months bud
12 months for any role or SDM role?
Is it really so? At least 3 recruiters have reached out to me for SDE roles within 2 months of me getting rejected.
Don’t apply Amazon sucks even for SDM and there is no good team
Short the stock 😊
OP could you plz explain the onsite round for SDM?
I had 5 rounds in total. 2 rounds with Sr SDM, 1 system design round with SDM, 1 round with hiring manager and the last round with the bar raiser. 6 hours of interview with 1 hour break between my 2nd and 3rd round. I cannot go into the specifics since I have signed NDA.
So only one system design round? Any coding round?
This is standard rejection for pretty every company in the world. It always has three main components with infinite variants: 1) you did not pass 2) don't contact us for feedback 3) we'll keep your info on file Once you are no longer worth anything to the recruiter you will likely be ghosted. Many recruiters will ghost active candidates in good standing until they have new info to share. Forget them. You'll find more timely and accurate answers from the Blind community.
What didn’t go well with the hiring manager? Could you please explain more to get pointers. Thank you!!
I felt like I didn’t impress him for most of the questions. He never asked me anything technical. I tried to go technical and he pulled me back with non technical probing questions. It wasn’t my day.. his questions are around people and project management only. I certainly didn’t raise the bar with any of his questions.
Could you give some insights on project management related questions?
Amazon folks - Is there a way for me to find out how long should I wait before I can reapply for other roles at Amazon?
Don’t apply it’s not a good company unless you get lucky with the team and manager
Yes this is a standard reply from the HR And you will be eligible to re apply after 6 months
