What happens when most of your team is Indian?
#tech #amazon #offer I have been offered the following for a Threat Intelligence Analyst (Remote - US) role at Amazon. Base - 82k Joining bonus - 23k Stocks - $20k (over 4 years) I have 3 years of industry experience in cyber security, 4 years total industry exp. Also, a MS degree in Cyber security. Can anyone provide some input to help me negotiate better? Thanks!
Can’t speak to this specific role, however this is a low offer for anyone with experience in a tech role
Their reasoning is that it's an Analyst, not Engineer role. Also, it's remote so they can't offer a location-based salary, even though I am in Seattle, and so is team. The recruiter initially informed me that the the base pay-range is 65k-87k for this role. I am decently happy with what has been offered, but considering the workload at Amazon, I feel the need to negotiate for more, if there's any room.
This looks like a bad offer. Specially for cyber and your background.
Seems low to me. Someone with your background would make similar or more in the same role at J&J and our TC is typically way lower than FAANG.
Assume this is L4? You should really try to get into an L5 role if you have those knowledge:skills:abilities.
Yes, it's L4. This is my first job in a FAANG company, and I frankly don't know what the expectations are. It is my first breakthrough, having failed on one occasion before. I'm accepting it because: - I get the opportunity to work in TI. - Amazon's solid immigration policy. - The growth potential a company like Amazon can provide. My recruiter has offered to set up a call with my hiring manager to discuss my growth, as they have hit the upper limit of compensation for this role with me. Should I take it, and discuss a timeline for promotion like you have suggested?
That makes sense. Hop in and get the skills and the resume experience. Promotion timeline will be dependent, hard to discuss this now but you can then decide later if you should apply elsewhere or wait for a promo.
What threats does Amazon need to analyze? Workers trying to form a union?
