https://www.pcmag.com/news/amazon-ceo-dont-wait-for-us-to-launch-a-chatgpt-competitor The real reason is they're just too far behind and were never on the cutting edge of AI research. If it was up to them, they would buy a 49% stake in Anthropic, but it's too late for that now. TC 450 #amazon
ChatGPT got the attention of the world as something 90% of the population could use and showed the art of the possible. Is it the future of AI? Questionable.
90% of the population? That's not feasible, stop blurting out random numbers out of your mouth
The average person doesn't know what ChatGPT is. I doubt 9% of the population know about it, let alone 90% of people using it.
The real reason is they couldn't hire enough Indians to manually respond

Good job believing the articles written for dumb sheeps by the media.
Says who - the Gemini folks? 😂😂
Smart move , it is a silly arms race .
Amazon is building their own LLM. The reason Jassy said this is he now realized the team couldn’t deliver. That’s why he said this bullshit thing hoping stockholders won’t blame him
Amazon is working on infrastructure, not an end user application. It's like providing shovels for those who want to strike gold.
Naa...that reference is for NVIDIA..as they are the ones building the GPU chips....hence their current value...
Then Amazon is providing the plot of land
We weren't waiting tbf
Amazon is good at repackaging open source projects. They are waiting for an open source ChatGpt competitor .
They are heavily invested in Anthropic and will angle their Gen AI move as making LLMs openly available in the cloud as a service. Also, what about Q? We already have a chatGPT competitor I don't care about Amazon but this seems like a fine business plan
Amazon is not even in the research business. They’re in provider business like infrastructure so that you can use it to mine coins or build/train your LLM
