This week Amazon Retail CEO was fired. As per Business Insider, the Retail 3 Billion $ Quarterly losses, Overcapacity (of warehouse and workers), and losing to Union caused back-to-back failure for the newly appointed Retail CEO Dave Clarke. The CEO firing is just the beginning in Retail. Andy Jassy is ruthless, will cut a lot, and will cut deep. AWS is just 10% of company workforce and 1/3rd of Tech workforce, even though contribute to majority of the profit. https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-consumer-ceo-dave-clark-resigns-missteps-2022-6 non-paid link - https://archive.ph/kalvf #amazon #layoff TC - 800K
It’s obvious from jassy’s note that includes below lines. He basically called out Clark there. “more work in front of us to get to where we ultimately want to be in our Consumer business.
Pipped
We knew even the CEOs get Pipped!
CEO gets PIPed 😂
OP what level are you for that TC?
E7, was a Sr. SDM at AWS.
AWS is the future of Amazon, it’s even clearer with Jassy at the helm.
When did it become acceptable to have multiple CEOs for one company? This could get as dumb as VPs at banks. Next thing you know PMs will be putting “CEO of {product}” on their LinkedIn
I think we have a total of 3 CEOs. The other one is AWS, which kind of makes sense, as it's a separate company, self-contained company. What's even "Worldwide Consumer"? Not really clear why he's a CEO instead of SVP.
