Seems like just because folks from IIT were part of the layoffs, this has been widely blown up and covered by media channels. They aren’t gods or any special category of people who are gonna be safe from layoffs. Just part of the corporate cog!

IIT is a prestigious institution in India which has the creme layer of indian student population. Similar to the competitive exams in China, South Korea that determine a candidate’s chance to get into a prestigious universities like SNU in korea, Tsinghua in China, that is IIT in India
