Amazon Grade and Comp
Current TC is 1.5M USD (base + equity + bonus) and SVP grade at Disney+. What grade/level and comp would be equivalent at Amazon and Microsoft? I have strong inbound feelers from both. Worth moving? Disney+ is chaotic but it’s doing well.
if you're good you can get this at L8 (director) at Amazon but it's case by case. but since you are SVP, you can get way more as L10 (VP) here. the $1.5m will seem like peanuts at that point.
it's pretty obvious you can do well at Prime Video too
If you’re a competent SVP you wouldn’t have asked the question here. Given the question is asked Amazon will probably offer you L6 manager role. Expect heavy down leveling .
Why do you say that? Do you at this level OP should know their worth on their own?
Amazon guys suffer a lot due to trash culture and horrible work environment. Probably the reason they are always cocky on blind
Get an executive coach/mentor. Discuss compensation and leveling possibilities. Faangs can offer great golden parachutes if you get on at the right level. Don't let them downlevel you.
My guess.. Amazon will offer L6 ( maybe L7 if lucky) and give you some BS story about how you can easily get promoted or external candidates coming in at a lower level and so on.
Ask for VP - L10. They might be wanting you for Prime video with your experience. Reason for asking higher level/ salary is the risk you taking by joining Amazon. Settle for no less than $2.5M
