Amazon H1 Transfer got denied after RFE

My H1 transfer with Amazon (AWS) got denied. I can't go back to my old employer since my former employer withdrawn my H1. Amazon is filing the new H1 petition. If in case the new petition also gets denied then what are my chances of Amazon sending me to other country ? It's been just 3 months since I joined in Amazon. The reason for my denial was "speciality occupation". My job role in previous organization is different from what Amazon filed during H1 transfer. Any suggestions are appreciated !!

What does that mean? We're you in a non developer role ? Getting paid less? So sorry that this happened to you though. ☹️

What's your role in previous company and in your new company ?

Amazon eFOk01 OP Mar 14, 2018

I was a database administrator in my previous company and now I'm cloud support engineer. May be this could be a reason I don't know though. And I'm not paid less for sure. I'm certain that I met wage level requirements as per USCIS.

You have to leave the country soon and can try working from Amazon office in your home country till the visa gets approved. Do you happen to have a CS degree?

Amazon eFOk01 OP Mar 14, 2018

Yes I do have CS degree in my Master's and Bachelor's.

Quick question, only because I’ve not had to do this but don’t you wait for the transfer to complete before switching companies?

Transfers used to take time, so people (including me) moved after getting USCIS receipt. I had not heard transferee getting rejected until a few weeks back

I know several people who got similar rfe. Specialty occupation rfe can mean 2 things- 1. Your current role is not a specialty occupation and can be done by people from other backgrounds or degrees as well. This scenario can be improved by your employer if he shows your job description is technical enough and requires a certain specific qualifications which are not very common to find. 2. The domain you work in isn't related to the degree you pursued. Nothing much can be done in this case except to provide evidence of the skillsets you gained in your degree program that can be applied to your job.

How much is degree relevant after many years of industry experience?
