I recently completed an Amazon loop and I was surprised by the folks on the panel. Half (3 out of 6) said they would never interact with the person in the role , and I never actually talked to the hiring manager so I really don’t feel like I got a good handle on the role at all. Is this normal and any advice on how I can find out more about what this job and team actually is like? Already asked the recruiter contacts and they said they had no further info for me. #tech #interview #amazon
If you got to the actual loop they were evaluating you for fit with Amazons leadership principles. It would be helpful if they knew more about your specific role but not necessary.
blah blah blah..
You will be confused too when you join and they put you on pip
lol these responses 😂 If you get an offer reach out to the hiring manager to set up a convo with them or a team lead I do informal convos with people we’re potential hiring occasionally
Ran over 100 interviews at Wayfair and this was common. Don’t think I ever interviewed someone who I would have interacted with, and many teams that person was being hired for I had no clue about. If you get an offer, ask the recruiter for a meeting with the HM/team.
Depends on if you are interviewing for team vs site. Mostly for location based generic interview like sde for prime video in Sunnyvale there are no team specific interviewer but if you are interviewing for specific team then there are team members and some bar raiser
You will get to talk to the hiring manager, but only after you have dedicated an entire day of your time to their generic skills test interview process. I am still waiting to hear back about the generic interviews I did last week.
Just plan to go for 2 years, get the massive signing bonus and leave. Nothing else matters
Leaving Salesforce for Amazon?

A well oiled cog in the machine does neither need to know why its spinning nor where its spinning. It needs to be replaceable and spin. 🫡
