Amazon L5 Seattle
Would appreciate some feedback on this offer. After looking at some other offers on here I think I could have done better on the interview. Total compensation between 195 and 220 (for privacy). Between 7 and 9 YoE. Mostly have been focusing on client-side web technologies but I have a decent amount of full stack experience as well and have worked on several side projects. I'm a principal level engineer on my tiny team right now.

Base is practically L4... Definitely low given your YOE...would aim for at least 140, but really since Seattle I’d want at least 155 base.
So you think a TC of 240 would be more appropriate? This is the first time I've seriously considered moving from the midwest so I went into this really not knowing what I should expect. Thanks
Yea I would shoot for at least a minimum of 220k and I would definitely want a higher base for Seattle. The yearly bonuses will help in y1 and 2, but if you plan on sticking around for y3 you’re gonna find that base difficult to live with the standards you’ve probably grown accustomed to.
Principal and not able to land higher than L5. Startup titles are laughable. The offer leaves a lot of room to grow. With 8 yoe if your offer does not reach the second half of the l5. Don’t take it.
