how is this offer for L5 - SD2 ( bay area) YOE: 8 Base: 180k bonus: 184k RSUs: ~266k based on current price. Yearly TC: 292k #offer btw this is final and non-negotiable. Amazon has an interesting way of granting stocks. it is expected the value goes up 15% Yoy. so keeping that in mind. the tc maybe higher.

Cyber truck killer: Chinese version of EV truck
I think it’s a great offer considering that they are one of the only places hiring. That’s a pre covid top of the band offer
Be ready for depression and no work life balance. Both make a nice cocktail.
I’m sorry to hear that. I understand the risks of working for an internet giant. That’s my motivation behind interviewing with amazon.
Is the bonus a one time sign on bonus? What are the terms for it?
Stock expected to rise when it’s already ATH and there are recession fears looming? Sounds like you are being too optimistic
It’s not my opinion. It is how amazon allocates stock units. It is their policy. However, I’d be curious to understand what happens if it actually does not jump.
Oh interesting!
Seems to be a good offer. I'm not sure about the culture in your current company, however, here things are very aggressive in general, people are either in rat race or live in a fear of getting PIPed unless until you get into an awesome team. If you are joining to learn and don't care about unnecessary pressure and low WLB, welcome and do keep this up in the initial few months no matter what happens
Thank you for your perspective. This is solid advice. I like amazon for multiple reasons: 1. Great product focused culture. Majority of their products and acquisitions have been a success even during tough times. 2. FAANG experience. 3. One of the only ways I could get into google without being down leveled. 4. Respect bezos as a leader and love his shareholder letters. (Read then all) 5. Good pay compared to what I make now. 6. Fan boy because of what they have built. I want to learn and understand how the business works across different verticals.
Curious too
It's a good offer for L5, though I'd expect someone with 8 YOE to be L6?
L5 is a pretty big band. It's not unusual to have L5s with 8 yoe. Op is probably top of the band
It was just a bit unexpected to me seeing how I'm at a bit <4YOE and my TC is ~287k. Sure OP's TC is a bit more but I have a bit less than half OP's YOE
That's an awesome offer, congrats. Which group are you in?
Thank you.
Its decent offer for the Bay Area, but would be really good for Seattle. See if you can relocate to Seattle. No state taxes so you get a 13% bump on salary right away and rentals are cheper too. Maybe they will reduce your base but can increase the sign on and/or RSU
I think it's a good offer but I'm not certain for SF.
Sunnyvale
Thats a sick offer
