Hi! I finished my loop interview with HM and it didn't go well. I still have 4 more to go including a bar raiser round. HM round was super easy, I just don't know how I fucked it up. Maybe not my day and lack of interviewing experience. Now I am feel unmotivated for the rest. How do I get out of this feeling? tc: 180 #datascience #data #dataanalytics #Amazon #L6 #Interview #Loop #Barraiser #motivation
Yes, there’s still chance. Don’t screw up the other rounds. Do your best!!
Thank you! Did my best. 🤞
Try your best and share the good news with us. All the best.
Thank you! 🤞🤞
Get a feedback maybe? Don’t put your effort in a lost cause, if its not worth it. At a time, when the interviewers expect perfection because of competition, the decision is yours. My two cents - If it’s not super important for you to find a new job, better use this time elsewhere. If you have no better thing to do or if it’s extremely important, go ahead with a certainty of rejection but expectation of learning and improving.
Thank you! It has been rare for me to get an interview from high paying companies. So, I am going to give my best anyway. At worst, I'll lay ground work for future interviews. Appreciate your thoughts.
See the rest of the rounds as free practice.
True! One positive thing that came out of the HM round not going well was that I didn't feel any nervous energy for the rest.
Are you doing NoFap? That will give you the motivation.
Didn't try it intentionally but I think that was the case anyway.
How is this related at all?
HM round is like 1 or 0 round. If you've screwed it, just drop out
Oh no!
Additional information: Had a round with skip as well. It went well. Hope, it can generate some counter balance.
You will not get the role irrespective. Will be filled by an internal candidate.
I put in a lot of work. Hope that's not the case
Something similar happened with a friend of mine. He was part of the same team, laid off, interviewed for a backfill position, received the offer and was revoked because the org changed its policy to only hire internal candidates or work with the existing headcount
Do they let you progress to the next rounds if you screwed up the HM round?
Yes! But I don't think they will prevent anyone from finishing the whole process unless something went really bad.
I’ve seen full loop clusterfucks and then the question goes back to how the person slipped through the phone/CV screen. You don’t know until the debrief though and usually there is an effort to find the shining glimmer of the person’s best quality and weaknesses before drawing to that conclusion. If your best quality is you didn’t choke on your saliva and say nothing just know that occasionally it happens.
Don't give up. This is Earth's best employer
Well, I should have asked, is there still a chance?
There's definitely a chance. I interviewed at Amazon a few years ago for L6 and totally fukked up 2 out of 5 rounds, still got the offer. I was really close to just not showing up to the second day of interviews, the first day was so bad, I only did it to get more interview practice and never expected to get an offer. Tldr it isn't over until it's over
