Anyone here work at Amazon’s Minneapolis office? How is it? How many people work there and what products are there?
It’s a small office. About 200ish engineers total maybe? The building is nice, but the teams are just okay. We don’t have anything really exciting going on here. The office is too small for that. The biggest team works on Amazon Relay, a mobile app for truck drivers shipping freight to/from Amazon FCs. It’s mostly full stack mobile/web work. The next biggest team is Tax. They own backend sales/VAT tax calculation services for the retail website. Standard Amazon Java SOA work. The other major engineering team is AWS Networking. They obviously work on network infra. I saw Amazon Key is also hiring android devs here too, but I don’t think many people have been hired yet. TC is the same as most of the US, which is the same as Seattle. If you want to live in the Twin Cities it’s a nice place to work.
@DingDong22 - do they hire PMs? I miss MSP.
Does Google have an office in Minneapolis? I would guess Amazon is more manufacturing there.
