I recently went through a lengthy interview process with Amazon for L7 Applied Scientist in a specific topic of NLP. The feedback for the interview was positive but the panel thought I would be a better fit for a Principal ML engineering due to my experience in engineering. I have 20+ years of experience in research (diverse background, different domains, including cloud infrastructure) and I’m not interested in switching to pure engineering. If your group is interested in someone with a diverse background with a focus in NLP, I’d love to hear from you. This could be a short interview loop since I already had 10+ hours of interviews with Amazon. I know there is a hiring freeze. I’m told there is still hiring for L7.
Could u share a bit about the interview rounds and how to prepare?
Rounds: initial technical screening. If you pass this, writing essay (L6+), tech talk, plus 6h of interviews (one LC medium coding, one ML breadth, one ML depth, one ML design/apps, one pure behavioral, one hiring manager). All rounds cover leadership principles. Good luck!
What is writing essay? Never heard of this before
