Amazon PIP

My Manager told me that I am not performing well and suddenly put me in PIP plan . He has already told me in march that my performance was low, and I have worked hard after that to show him. Even in 1:1s after march he has told me that I am improving. But I did not expect him to give me the pivot document suddenly.He has given a project which I was already working on and now I need to deliver it by august 12th. The L4 (front end/software engineer) tasks are not “not-doable” but I am scared about the fact that recession is coming and this might be an Amazon way of kicking people out and even if I delivered everything he asked for, he can still decide to kick me out. I am in H1b visa and I am just scared that I might be without any job. So , can anyone help me with referrals and tell me what should I do at this situation? What is the best way to survive PIP as well as prepare for interview? Also what is the process for unemployment in H1B status. How long before i have to leave the country? Very panicked and confused and stressed. Any help is appreciated! I am in L4 and have worked for amazon for 9 months till now. PS: for everyone suggesting me to transfer teams, unfortunately at this point i am not allowed to transfer teams as well. Tc: 162k (includes bonus and base pay) without stocks.

Dm me with linkedin and resume. I can forward your LinkedIn to my technical sourcer..she helps run hiring events for msft. Best way to get in, its how I made it. Start going through msft leetcode as well. If choice between Redmond and Atlanta, I recommend Atlanta . Huge growth campus for msft.

Frankly, once you are on PIP, you should leave. Most (but not all) PIP are designed to fail you

You need to transfer teams if possible or start interviewing. Your manager started the pip process and has formal paper trail for HR. You're unfortunately fucked at this point.

I had the same happened to myself in amazon, toxic culture. Please leetcode asap abd as much as you could. You could discuss with your boss to have the current job as long as possible, for example, QA team might be in short of people and you go there to help 6 weeks. You should apply for other job immediately.
