Amazon SDE 3 vs SDE 2
I have cleared telephonic and initial coding round with Amazon. I have two options now. 1. go for SDE 3 role with one more round of telephonic which decides if I should go for SDE3 or SDE2. Team Core Alexa. 2. Go for SDE2 onsite directly with Amazon Search Customer Experience team. Any inputs are appreciated. In Amazon Search team, recruiter told me that work is in Machine Learning related which I am pretty inclined to, I am not sure what Alexa team does, its alexa core team. YOE: 10+ but have not worked much with large scale systems. Current TC: 140K
It totally depends on your confidence and ability to crack SDE 3 interview. SDE 3 is a very challenging role at Amazon. The expectation is that you design and code simple solutions to complex problems and has the ability to show cross team influence. I heard good things about search customer experience team that uses machine learning. Engineers are very experienced and it has good WLB.
How is the Alexa Core Skills team?

SDE3s actually have some power. SDE2 is the worst role in Amazon
Sde3 tc is about 100k+ better. Seems like a fairly obvious choice.
yeah thats what I am thinking to go for SDE3 loop and if down leveled in medium case scenario then I would not mind.
