I have a interview coming up and have been iffy on the relocation part. Would be moving from upstate NY to Arlington if I get the position. Can Amazon give you at least a year before you relocate? Or should I just not waste my time on preparing for this interview? #sales #amazon
It’s not remote. You are interviewing for an inside sales roles that must be located “in one of our global cloud sales hubs” which is DC and Seattle. Amazon’s remote announcement doesn’t apply to every team, it is director specific. I literally just left Amazon for this reason. They will not work with you as an ISR, you must relocate when they return to office.
Would they work with me if I ask for at least a year to relocate? I would imagine the Jan 3 date being moved again due to COVID.
I’m telling you directly they will not. Even worse, they will lie to you and say they will to get you to accept and then make you move anyway. I’ve seen it happen to 5+ ISR’s. You will not have location flexibility for an inside sales role and your sourcing recruiter has literally no idea what AWS inside sales directors will decide on a whim. I was in this org. I left this job. I’m not trolling you, I’m telling you the truth.
You will make $250k+ to be a glorified SDR and book first time customer meetings. The recruiter is not wrong, it is up to the director, but the inside sales leaders have gone all in on an in office strategy. So again, technically it is up to the directors, I’m just telling you what those directors have decided.
I wasn’t told wat the TC was as I didn’t get an offer but I’m under the assumption it’s a L6 position.
Yes, looks like all of the current Sr. Inside Account Exec roles for Arlington are L6. I don’t work in that org, but could be that part of the pressure to be in office is a need to have bodies in HQ2.
Isn’t Amazon remote for a lot of their teams? I think you should bring this up with the recruiter, I’m sure they can accommodate ya
