I got a job offer from Amazon, starting on Aug 15th. I asked my recruiter and they don't know, so I'm asking here. The first year sign-on bonus clause says, "The bonus will be paid in twelve, equal monthly installments, as advances, subject to your continued active employment, with each installment earned on a prorated, daily basis during your first year of employment." Are there any Amazonians who have seen that language in their offer? If so, should I expect my first monthly installment on Aug 15th or Sept 15th? Or some other date? It's kinda confusing, eh? This is in Canada. 185k base 103k 1st year sign-on 1700 RSU on the 5/15/40/40 plan edit: L5 SDM, 15+ YOE
You will be paid on a monthly installment. So you will get it as part of your first pay check
I understand I'll be paid bi-weekly, is that not correct? This is not with AWS, don't know if that matters.
Amazon typically pays monthly not biweekly.
Sep 15th. Yoe and level? This offer seems really good for Canada
Updated the post, thanks for the reminder. L5 SDM, 15+ YOE
OP, are you Indian and did they down level you? I am seeing a lot of experienced Indians being downlevelled at Amazon
Never seen that, but I'm US based. My sign on was prorated over the first twelve months so I got the first prorated portion the first month I worked there. I started in July and since we are paid monthly I received a prorated portion in my July check. Just reach out to your recruiter to explain. That's what they're there for
I already asked the recruiter. I was told I could log in to the portal on day one to find out, because he didn't know how Canada handles it.
Ah, interesting. Mine was able to explain everything. Maybe Canada is different but I couldn't see my pay in the portal until 2-3 days before pay day.
Both sign on and base are paid bi-weekly
Found the jackass that speaks without reading: “The bonus will be paid in twelve, equal monthly installments”
The bonus instalment is paid alongside the first pay check of the month.
Your first year sign on is closer to my base. Lol.
