Hypocrisy of Indians
They are living the high life. Think of it from my perspective. I’m a computer science graduate. And then I’m working 12 hour nights shifts at a call center to call American clients. You amazon workers make more in ONE day than I do in an ENTIRE YEAR. Like wtf. Why are you complaining about team and WLB? I’ll gladly take your job anyway in America. Your complaints are elitist and out of touch. You should be made to work 556 (5 pm to 5 am, 6 days of the week) for your 300k TC. TC: $500 per year (0.5 LPA), India YoE: 0, new graduate 2023 employed in call center #tech #amazon
There's always someone doing worse and better than you. Doesn't always mean you or they don't deserve it or shouldn't aim higher. I'm sorry to say this but if you're making 500$ per year after btech CS it's very likely that YOU did something wrong.
I’m not a BTech I’m a BSc 3 year degree. I didn’t do anything wrong. It’s the worlds fault for not giving me the opportunities that I rightfully deserve. I tried Amazon but got rejected so many times. I tried everything.
Bro, I'll tell you one thing, everyone got to where they are by working hard at some point in their life. People from tier-1 colleges worked hard in 10-12 standard. I'm from a tier-3 college, I worked my ass off to get better at coding, was top 10 in icpc regionals in my final year. Some people joined low TC jobs, did leetcode, design for years and joined entry level jobs in FAANGs at 2-3 yoe. I hope you get the point.
I smell BS
You don’t understand. The money is great while it lasts. It doesn’t last, unless you have some luck. You’re fired arbitrarily. The torture is psychological. People complain because it could be so much better with fairly small changes. If Amazon were hopeless, there would be no reason to discuss it. The key problem with Amazon today is over hiring. When there are too few devs, the devs have some power to push back. Then, they enjoy their jobs so much that they voluntarily work 60-80 hours per week. Jassy massively over hired and wrecked Amazon cultural, which was harsh but efficient. He should be PIP’d.
You need to understand there's hierarchy of needs. You expect more and different things once you are at certain level both for money and wlb, nothing wrong in it that's how we push the envelope and make upward mobility possible. ( Amazon shouldn't be anyone's bar FOR WLB but as new grad you get a pass for putting Amazon and wlb in same sentence) Now you didn't tell what kind of cs graduate you are since there are whole spectrum of engineering colleges in India, but I wish you well, while noone is just going to give you an Amazon job for writing this I hope you have motivation and resources to make a switch and join the whole gang complaining about shit tc and trash wlb
Yeah we cry in our fancy houses and expensive cars, paying our therapists for the trauma they cannot cure, decimating what little is left of our happiness for the TC we get here. Either make an effort to step up or stop crying at someone else's TC without knowing what they go through. Also with that TC don't post on Blind. 'Elitists' cannot waste their precious time on your rant (if you don't get this, it's called sarcasm). Now go do your shift and be grateful that you're employed in this economy. P.S. Your username doesn't check out for $500 per year. So yeah that TC smells a lot like your post. SUS!
Amazon hr spotted
You’re a victim
Nice try Jeff
Your situation is unfortunate, and I empathize heavily with you due to the fact that I started off at minimum wage myself ($8.56/hour in 2020). With that being said, Amazon is a terrible company and the argument that they make more in one day than you do in one year means absolutely nothing considering the toxicity and stressful work that has festered for years. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side, and people should be able to work 35-40 hours a week without the need to feel burnt out and overwhelmed due to the constant stress of PIP. The ability to earn 300K while working 20 hours a week is what makes our profession worth it, and this type of mentality of shaming tech workers for being able to do more in less time is why we’re being attacked by the very same people who make several times more than we do. TC: 105K
So you say you're getting INR 4k per month. Stop the bs. It is too low for any job in India for a graduate. I hope this is sarcasm. And nobody's stopping your from apply for SDE roles at Amazon. People who there worked hard for it.
