Received an offer yesterday for a role in Seattle and was only given 2 days to make a decision and given no room for negotiation on salary. Base $125K Sign on $33k + $24k RSU 33 I've a total experience of 8 years of experience. Do you think this is a fair offer or am I being low balled?
Sr BIE is L6.
I just realized that thanks for letting me know.
Amazon seems like a pretty lame place to work. A friend got an offer too and they treated my friend pretty disrespectfully Always lowballing / weak tc on top of that
What is BIE
Business Intelligence engineer
Looks low. Also agreed Sr. Should be an L6. With 8 YOE you need to be an L6. Also don’t go into the company low. It’s not built to work your way up. You will not be getting any kind of significant raise.
It's funny cos the job I applied for was for L6. But the offer they have provided me is for L5. Thanks for the comment. I was 80% gonna accept the offer but now I feel cheated. Do you think they would revise the offer if I let them know about this. ?
I’m no expert in salary negotiation, but I would not approach it as if your “know” something and feel cheated. Just say you are making closer to what you actual want, over shoot by like 20k (so Ask for 160 if you want 140), and talk up the insane cost of living. The new apartments by Google on Mercer are $4k a month. Remember the recruiter wants to close you. Don’t bite at the first offer if it’s not what you think you are worth. Best of luck.
What's the expected numbers for a L6 bi offer?
