Amazon Sr. DS Phone Screen Interview
Hi, My first post here. Have a PhD in Physics with 4 years of industrial experience (2 yrs in HW development and 2 years in more data analytical roles) and got interest from Amazon for a couple of Sr. DS roles. They want me to have a phone screen first to see if I am a good fit. Should I just focus on SQL and pandas mainly for data analysis/manipulation? Also if someone can give examples of questions on stats/probability that will be great. Is there any use to practice LC before the interview? Will there be any coding test ? Depends on the team, but for a phone screen I wouldn’t expect a coding test, but sql and/or python will probably eventually be tested. I’d assume it would be more stats/ML, but that would depend on the role description
Thanks. There were a couple of HMs interested in my profile (I honestly don't know why as I do not have a stat or CS degree). One of them in Customer Trust & Partner Support (CTPS) and one of them in Alexa Product Advisor. But as far as I discussed with the recruiter, he said this is going to be a general round where there will be data manipulation (I assume SQL/pandas), ML based questions and some questions on stats/probability.
