A million a year?

Could be lower end. They band is very high. Can go up to several millions.

I would think so. Cause a VP is L10. They skip a whole level. Also, a VP in Amazon is like a CEO of a mid-tier company so I am not surprised if they get 4-5 Million a year

Don’t compare Bank of America VP with real amazon VP. Bofa simply offers VP and SVP to pretty much everyone as you, me and your friend know.

Lol true... banking companies makes every other person VP and AVPs..

Lol VP in Bank of America is like Sr Software Engineer at Amazon 😂

A million a year is in band for a senior principal (L8) SDE/Scientist or an L8 tech director. VP probably starts closer to a million and a half. 2-3M probably common.

Amazon cotxyoc Mar 20, 2019

I don’t think million a year is in band for L8 SDE. Probably like 750-800.

Amazon Cynimist Mar 20, 2019

Well bands are much wider than that. But I was also thinking of Bay Area numbers. Bottom of L8 SDE band here is around 710k, top of band must be above the 1M mark. Consider that Bay Area L7 SDE band is 450k-700k. Likewise for tech director - bottom of band is around 775k in Bay Area, top of band must be around $1.1M-1.2M. Note: you could reverse engineer the L8 Seattle bands similarly, the L7 numbers have been posted quite a few times on Blind.

What would one need to accomplish to come in as a VP at Amazon? On the non-tech side, in my case. It can't only be CEOs of other firms.

CEOs of acquired firms or GM of a BU at another Fortune 500 would be a decent comp
