Guys, I am development manager at Oracle and I am planning to move out of here, coz, you know, there are so many reasons which I don't want to get into but primarily I get the feeling of being left out after working for a while now on age old technologies. I hear amazing things about AWS and I want to be part of it. Could anyone of you please tell me a) what is the best role that I could apply for in AWS given that I am a Dev manager at Oracle having 4 directs and also my overall experience of 10 years in Tech Industry. b) My current skill set is Core Java (Advanced) and Oracle SQL, PLSQL, which I am sure is not sufficient to make it to AWS. I am also not great at Algorithms, but am willing to work on it if needed. Please advise me on what do I need to work on. Please let me know the roles I could apply for at AWS. I do not want to start as a low level engineer and looking for a lead role or above. I am also eager to pursue senior level individual contributor roles.I am willing to put in all the time needed to prepare. Appreciate your inputs. If you could also provide me a few companies that I could interview for to be prepared for AWS, that'd be awesome too.
Check out amazon.jobs, seems like there's usually a lot in AWS
Level 5 if you are lucky
Azure azure azure azure azure azure azure azure azure azure azure azure!
Honest question - what has you excited for azure? I see you guys as an awesome competitor, but if you had the chance, why not go to the winning team? No disrespect intended.
Try SDM. You won't really get to code. It's unlikely you can make it as L6 for SDE.
OP DM me - I'm hiring and know many many folks that are. I don't mind referring a good candidate
You're a good fit for SDM level 5/6 and SDE 2 maybe Senior if you rock your interviews.
