I'm filling out my background check and I'm required to enter last 10 years employment details. I graduated about 2 years ago so I only have 1 internship, 1 teaching assisstant job at uni, and my current employment. Do I need to go far back when I was 16 and provide details of when I worked at Subway, Tim Hortons, etc during high school? Seems super irrelevant and I don't even remember any details from that time. The Amazon background check team hasn't replied to my question yet so I figured I'd ask here.
Better disclose too much than ubderdisclose and be blamed for hiding something
If I knew the details, I would just do it and get it over with. The problem is I have 0 clue who my manager was when I was 15, I have no pay stubs, I'm not even sure those places are even in business anymore...
I just listed what was relevant to the position and nothing that far back. They’re welcome to ask if they want but they never did. I got hired no problem. I think they are more interested in you lying about having jobs that you didn’t really have.
Good to know, thanks. I'll provide all relevant experience like you say. I really doubt they care about my time making sandwiches at a Subway.
I just submitted for background check, they just asked for ssn , dob and address. Nothing about experience or previous employers. The background check service told me, no education or employment check was requested. it has already completed background check and info is with Amazon. Does Amazon collect employment experience afterwards or they match it from resume? What am i missing here?
Are you a new grad? My background check is for Canada, so it might be different if you're in the US. I didn't provide my social security number as it was optional.
Not new grad, i have 15+ years of experience
You should include what you listed in your CV/resume. This is what the company evaluated when they hired you, therefore this is what they want to verify with the background check.
10 years? Secret clearances go back 7 years. WTF?
Trolling
umm?
