I got a call from an Amazon technical recruiter for a diversity hiring event in the Retail Team in Seattle. TC they will offer, she said was ~300k for upto L5. Is it a good team (learning wise)? I guessing that the OnCall is going to be insane. Is the package for that level fair? Edit: ~300k is the total offer. I am guessing per year will be less. Around $200k-$250k :( TC: $250k #tech #joboffers #interview
Some retail teams are chill. 300K is very good. I am L5 and make 250K now. Joined 3 years back as L5 with 200K annual comp. Even before accepting an offer, you can ask for other teams/location and there are a bunch of recruiters who will find you a place in almost any org of your choice. After joining, if you don't like a team for any reason, you can always transfer internally. Good luck 👍
Change is inevitable. Go for it.
Amazon has diversity events? I am a woman and never got called for any diversity hiring event anywhere. How do I keep myself aware of such events?
what makes you diverse?
Not sure. Just the gender I guess
Retail is basically everything except AWS. So no way anyone can help you here about wlb, work etc unless you know which exact org or team you will join. Most likely they will give you few teams as options if you clear interviews. Just interview and see what they offer. No harm in trying. Btw there are reports of Amazon offering 300k yearly TC for L5 external hires as market is hot
Why tf would you want to join amazon coming from Microsoft
I will join whoever gives me the best offer, dude. Why would anyone want to be at a company with bad refreshers, forever?
