It is not a fking ban but she said I could try after 2 years. I thought I did OK in the interview, Was in fact expecting an offer and now I am judging my expectation vs the reality. It sucks
Maybe it was your personallity (Not trying to be rude and I dont know all of the variables)
I am a very chilled type. Out of 5 interviews, I was not able to finish one coding question but was in the right direction. It sucks coz when you are expecting an offer and you get 24 months ban.
Did you get med/hard? Could you explain a clear approach before solving? What level were you interviewing for?
I’m sorry fam. But there are a lot of other companies and you also work in once of the better ones. So don’t worry too much.
Amazon hiring sucks so don’t worry about it and move on. We seem to be hiring some bad eggs lately, while we pass on some top performers. Recruiting is clueless and the HM are too lazy to notice the difference.
Why would you even want to go to that shit hole
How’s Postmates btw? There’s an office where I live and thinking of applying.
Not sure of the Bellevue office but I love the hq office. It's definitely fun
Usually bans those long tend to be due to answers given for LPs.
I feel your pain. Just had an interview and completely baffled that I failed. Probably the first time in my career that I walked out feeling like I nailed it and didn’t get an offer. I was told I could immediately re-apply for other reqs though.
I feel your pain man. I'm almost always 100% wrong in how I think an interview went. I had a phone screen with a consulting firm 3 weeks ago - best tech interview I ever had. Guy was awesome. Got me super excited about the role. Next morning "We've decided not to move forward with your candidacy". Had a phone screen with AWS last week - thought it went well / okay - proceeding to on-site.
So funny you say that. I had another 2 onsites (different companies) last week. The one I thought I nailed......no offer for the role I want but they are trying to shove me towards a newer team and slightly different role. The 2nd onsite, I feel I bombed. But supposed to hear back tomorrow. Good luck with AWS! Do not underestimate the bar raiser round.
Someone gave you a "strong no hire" and it wasn't disputed. That's the procedural reason. As for why...don't know. We weren't there.
Does that mean 4 can say yes and one says strong no hire and u are out ?
Unfortunately
Fwiw I’ve seen people who nail all the questions and still don’t get an offer since the bar raiser feels like being a dick.
Meh, you are probably better off at Salesforce.
I’ve only seen 2 years no recycle for people who did terribly. At the same time it’s 100% up to bar raiser so if they’re not aware of the policy it’s possible. But why would you want to leave Salesforce for Amazon?
if they would have paid me a lot more, maybe. but now since I am not able to clear the interview and got 24 months ban. I am thinking what went wrong
Amazon > Salesforce
