Got an email from amazon saying they want to interview me for some AWS role. Link in the email leads to a form to propose blocks of time for a 1 hour interview. What is that interview? I’m used to the first call being a 15-30 min with a recruiter. TC 315
Typically recruiter talks to you first and then you get hirethebest email. Probably someone is being lazy or they accidentally hit the button.
Yeeeesh. (Shakes head in shame)
You might be talking to the hiring manger, but the recruiter should communicate that. I had two hour phone interviews before my onsite.
If it is one hour then it is a phone screen.
If it is the first email then it is not a phone screen
unless it’s for 1 hour then it is.
It's with the recruiter most likely
Some of the brightest minds in the world on this website and I'm amazed that you all will come to blind to ask questions instead of asking the one person who will 100% know the answer - the recruiter.

PM is irrelevant role and will die in next 2-3 years.
Sounds like a lazy way to get candidates to interview. The question is, do you want to invest time in something that you don’t have any context into?
