This is true. The experience is actually worse now than it was 2 days ago. And it's not configurable. You can't even replay, or ask it to play the last song anymore. You can no longer ask for just a single song, it'll always play a stream now. And you can't restrict it to only a specific artist anymore - it'll only do "songs similar to this". The whole thing is much worse than it was. It also now gives a 30 sec monologue about how you should buy Amazon Music, because then you get back the features you used to have. And it opens a prompt to try to get you to say yes/no verbally to enroll in it. If you sneeze or something at that time, good luck, because it'll probably sign you up. Even silence isn't acceptable to it, and it'll reprompt you until it hears a sound from you
It’s for ordinary people who like to create their own playlists(not worrying about shuffles) . Ad-free is big bonus (Spotify free version annoying with Ad).
I'd use Amazon Music if it actually worked with Android Auto. If I ask Android Auto to play a specific song on Amazon Music, I get some random song, not what I wanted. For example, I'll ask for 'Let It Go' from Frozen. It'll play 'I'm still standing' by Elton John. At least Spotify actually plays what I want it to play.
Amazon music is pretty shitty I wouldn't worry about it, literally lost all my music going to YouTube music and dont regret it at all

It's already free with prime in India. Anyway prime music UI and search is pretty bad

Only shuffle play “mixed with similar songs” or, here’s some extra annoying garbage to make you consider paying anyway, but hey, “Ad free!*”
That's probably the goal. Investor money os tight, now, so Amazon might as well squeeze Spotify out of the market.
