People who dislike Amazon are weak-willed mediocre engineers who can barely manage an interactive rebase and probably couldn't write a coherent Java program without the force of 1,000,000 IntelliJ plugins behind them. This company is a great place to be if you're competent and understand the first thing about office social dynamics. Change my mind (pro tip, you can't) TC 550k Yoe 6
Plot twist: OP only worked at Amazon
I can sense that. Have seen many of my friends are like this. How can you say something as great when you have no experience somewhere else.
Really doubt someone could go up to 550k in 6 years staying at the same company. Must have definitely jumped one or two times between big companies to get there that fast
Hi HR howβs it going
My first thought too.
They are probably shocked engineers aren't lining up for jobs despite a slowdown.
The way you authored your post, speaks more about the type of people who succeed at Amazon. Thanks for the clarity π
Typical toxic Amazonian
Amazon is the place to be for toxic people
"Amazon is the place to be for toxic people" True that. And the folks who leave or are leaving Amazon are labeled "weak mediocre engineers" by folks such as OP.
We're unhappy because we need to put up with judgemental pricks like you.
I'm happy because I get to be a judgmental prick all day
Making a post on blind about how amazing your company is definitely doesnβt scream insecurity π
I sense an echo chamber and inflated ego. No intent to change anything in you
Hi Amazon recruiter π
You are getting paid well. Keep in mind ~90% of engineers are L5 or lower. An internally promoted L5 is likely making 40% of your TC. So sure, Amazon is not that bad if you have TC that is in top 5% of all their engineers,(internally promoted L6s will make a lot less than you, and you are even beating many recent external L6 offers).
Yea, if your other companies are IBM, and Oracle this can make sense.
My last company was Google and it sucked in comparison.
Man you really suck if you came from Google to Amazon. The pay band is low and given your experience you probably were low performer there.
