I've already searched online and the majority of the posts I've seen on this specific topic basically stated "under consideration" means just that, and it may be in that status for 1 day or for several weeks with no rhyme or reason to it, but I figured I'd ask here anyway. I have two job applications currently in "under consideration" status, which I submitted with a referral on Sept 15th. This status changed on the 16th and it does not appear there has been any activity since that time frame. I applied to a third position which was basically an auto-denial, but the other two remain active. One is for a Senior level role and another is for a Principal level role. Does anyone have any insight on when I should expect to hear from a recruiter, if at all? Or information on when to write these apps off as being "aged out," even if the status doesn't necessarily reflect that? Not to ruin your hopes but I have 2 under considerations for more than 5 months, they were not referrals so could be different. At this point I just hope they get denied.
not ruining my hopes at all, just trying to set realistic expectations for myself. I will continue to skill-up (get additional certs) and will try again. as these appear to be on the path of aging out... given the feedback thus far i have a feeling these aren't going anywhere. appreciate your feedback!
I had one under consideration for 2.5 years after I was told I didn't have the job. Currently I have 58 applications in with Amazon and 7 are "under consideration"
I got offer and the application is still under consideration
Applications through referral goes automatically into under consideration as per my experience, nothing much to conclude from that. Also under consideration means your profile fits the basic requirements for the position but so would the profile of 20 others as well and the hiring manager chooses who he wants to interview first. This I got from a recruiter at Amazon.
Did your "under consideration" status result in an interview or did it eventually age out? Appreciate your response/experience
Referral never converted to an interview call in my case but it was showing under consideration in all these cases, but once I applied for a position myself very relevant to my profile and I got an interview call and the status was also changed to under consideration. So it's more on profile relevance with the Opportunity. If multiple applications have similar profile then in that case refferals would be preferred but only after evaluating internal candidates.
