Amazon new grad hires are shit(most of them) - return interns as well as 30 min ones. I am trying to resolve the mess one of them did as I am OnCall. I was his mentor and I had categorically denied manager to not bring him back as he lowers the bar but we were not getting people for 6 months straight so manager asked me to put incline vote and now we are paying for him. The value/cost is abysmal for this intern. If there was a pool of interns in terms of rating like meta/google and all, he won't be even hired in first place. But banana factory has no bar raisers for new grad hires TC:210k after crash I am depressed, need suggestions. Life is unfair, so many talented people are getting laid off, some in unfair pip and all and here this jerk is asking me daily about benefits at Amazon. Amazon bar is bs, many teams here if stack ranked against other teams in terms of quality of output could get pipped entirely Edit : He is 7 months into new job full time
Don't be such an ass . He is just an intern . It's a good opportunity to coach Always remember people at the same level never performs at same level .some underperform and some overperform . Even at your level , someone might be far better as compared to you .it doesn't mean you ar shit employee ! That's why I left Amazon , people there always curse about each other ..i such a bad culture !

Interns are hired for 2 reasons - cheap labour - to be mentored They should never be put in positions where they can make detrimental mistakes. Any situation even remotely close to that is purely at fault of the manager. OP should man up, take some responsibility and learn from this
