Amazon non-compete

Got into offer negotiation with Walmart. Really enjoy the job and team, but I’m concerned with Amazon non-compete. I was working in Chicago for Amazon, the non-compete was signed when I was based in IL. Now moving to CA for the Walmart job. Will I be impacted by the position? I heard non-compete is not effective in CA but not sure if I should be considered as CA or IL. Anyone has similar experience? TC: 220K Job family: ProServ Level: L5 Thank you all! Went through so many politics and backstabs at Amazon, got stabbed and don’t want to go through that again. Finger finger crossed that the offer negotiation is smooth and I can get out to this shithole place asap.

You are fine, non-compete is a joke. Just last week an L7 Science Manager that I knew joined Walmart. So you are fine!

Amazon is not going to come after you for it. The last time I heard of this happening was when they contested a VP leaving to Google in the same business vertical.

You are fine

All the best to you. Sincerely hope it’s better over there. Am tired of Amazon BS where so many people’s superpower and guiding principle is how to not deliver nor let others deliver.

In CA those clauses aren’t valid. Unless you’re someone super important no one is coming for you.

CA does not recognize non-compete so don't worry about it

Why all amazon ppl joining Walmart for low tc ?

Amazon hvpd37 OP Feb 24, 2023

Because no other recruiters called. Also, lower TC but a lot more normal people you can call human beings.
