I received a super cringe message from an Amazon recruiter today that reads like a thirsty tinder message. I will reply with the funniest comment to this post and provide anonymized screenshots. TLDR I’ve searched my LinkedIn message history. primary email history, secondary email history, and (no bullshit) Twitter DMs before writing this post. I’ve received 187 messages from recruiters representing Amazon over the past 4 years. The overwhelming majority of these have been word salad type descriptions of roles I would be a bad fit for. ————————————- Today I got this message, gramatical mistake and spacing issues copied appropriately : Hi <name> , I hope you, your family, and your friends are doing well! I did want to reach out to you though, as I came across your resume and certainly think you could be a great fit for some Software Engineer position that I am currently hiring for. These positions add a very enriching experience to you career. And working in Amazon is super fun!!! If you are interested, these would be full-stack, end-to-end positions that would allow for some exposure and experience with Machine Learning. Working within Operations Technology business and Robotics team would also allow you to see your work first-hand, while building largely scalable and imperative systems. Please find the job requirement in the link below <link to specific job> Please advise if and when may be a good time for the two of us to speak. I promise I will keep it short and make sure to answer all your questions. I will make sure you leave our conversation fully satisfied. You have an impressive resume and I would never leave a professional of your caliber frustrated. If you are not interested, please refer this role to any of your acquaintances whom you think might be interested. Regards, <name> Technical Recruiter Amazon
“I will make sure you leave our conversation fully satisfied” ??? U should take the call op, there will be some 🍌 for u
How about a little kindness? You’re punishing the recruiter for simply trying to be friendly.
“I will make sure you leave our conversation fully satisfied. You have an impressive resume and I would never leave a professional of your caliber frustrated.” Friendly? 🤣 this line reads like the intro to an adult movie
nah he deserves to be doxxed for this level of cringe
DM me for Rippling! Fast process, better than Amazon work wise
Proof?
Could just be a foreign person who doesn’t write very well.
English isn’t everyone’s first language and that person probably isn’t American, and the fact that the person knows more than one language in itself is commendable. But with that being said, bashing on the recruiter for their lack of grammar is plain wrong. They’re just trying to do their job. The only one who should get the blame here in the first place should be AMZN, cause they did a shit job vetting and hiring. Just my 2 cents
Agree. Op should blame their harsh culture.
As someone whose native language isn’t English either, I am embarrassed to see those mistakes and cringe in a message. While it may be difficult to write properly, certainly put your due diligence to format your invitation copy-paste latter since you are representing the entire company you are hiring for.
Gawd they are just trying to do their job. Either refer one of your friends or someone you know to them or move on.
sounds hot
Well, they always left me satisfied and smiling
Sounds like they may be from India as the grammar fits. I think you may have just ran into a situation where there is simply a language barrier is all
The recruiter is from India. I suspect they’re outsourcing recruiting activities to the Indian office, cost savings probably!
Makes sense, more American jobs going over there lately.
Lol reposted after removing the recruiter name and job id? Good, doxxing is bad. Glad you learnt that lesson.
Total screw up on my part and I feel horrible. I accidentally missed the footer (typing and copying on my phone) and deleted the original post as soon as I realized. I don’t support doxxing and don’t want anyone harassing the recruiter, the message was just too funny for me not to share.
You’ve restored about .5% of my faith in humanity by doing this
