It seems clear that Google and a number of other tech companies are adopting Amazon's stack ranking model for performance reviews. For those who got MI (or whatever the second worst rating is there) twice in a row at Amazon, is it possible to actually recover from this? Or is this an inevitable path to the worst rating with an eventual PIP and termination? Is it worth trying to repair or is it merely a signal that management hated someone else more for awhile and will get around to forcing me out once they're done getting rid of that other person/people? #amazon #tech
Always choose severance over pip completion.
I got low ratings at a company that does the same thing. I just gritted my teeth and adjusted to the lower TC.
Thanks for responding! Did they let you continue that way until you left on your own? Or did they eventually use more aggressive tactics trying to get you to leave?
I haven't actually left; Blind just puts "ex" for whatever reason. The stack ranking and mandatory goal setting never ends, even for deadwood employees 😔
Sir/Mam we have an average tenure of just 1.8 years.
I would be surprised it’s even 1.8 years in aws org.
