Amazon to Cisco (India). Makes sense?
So I am getting pipped at Amazon for poor performance and below are the offers I have so far (2 week left till LWD): Cisco (India) - Software Engineer - G10 35 LPA fixed + 6 LPA (stock) + 4 L Bonus = 45 LPA (1st Year) Sharechat (India) - SDE-2 47 LPA fixed + 4.5 L (Bonus) + 6 L (ESOPs for 1st Year) = 57 LPA (1st Year) Current TC : 58 LPA INR (base + bonus +RSU) Role : SDE-2 at Amazon (joined Mid-2022) YOE : 4 years I feel like the work-pressure is to high at Amazon as my teammates work 10-12 hrs everyday. I was a high performer in my previous job (Fintech) but after coming here had to grind hard everyday due to deadlines. When I started receiving 1:1 emails from my manager I knew I was in focus and just focused on preparing for interviews. I failed interview with Apple and Google in System Design rounds (could have prepared better - feels bad). Currently I am feeling that my confidence has been shattered after joining amazon. From getting promoted in previous job to getting fired at Amazon hit my confidence real bad. I want to focus more on work-life balance now as I am married and will plan family soon. Want to give more time and love to my wife which Amazon deprived since 1 year. To me joining Cisco makes sense as of now. Have heard Sharechat has poor WLB. Will continue applying for good companies like MSFT, Atlassian, etc My preference: WLB > TC But bcoz of FAANG brand name in resume and high TC keeps on confusing myself. What do you all think? Go and join Cisco for now. Don’t worry about TC, i feel for you wlb and mental peace matters right now. You can join Cisco and then take time to prep well for Google, FB, and other big tech. Maybe a year down the line you’ll have better offers and better opportunities and a peaceful life.
Exactly what I am thinking. Seems like it will never me enough how much I earn. I started with 8 LPA job and now earn 5x. Seems about right time to take a step back and not run after TC. Want to spend quality time with family, have international trips, enjoy and make memories.
To hell with Amazon. Good you woke up from that nightmare. They are just looking for excuses now to fire people as they overhired. Count your blessings for having two job offers and get the hell out of there I would pick Cisco in current economy
True. I wished things could have been different as Amazon was my dream company back in college. But seems like it's not a good fit considering my personal preference.
My Friend at Cisco used to play COD all day. He was working for less than 3 hours a day.

Wait for internal transfer opportunities and then try. My team has great WLB. All SDEs work for 30 to 40 hours max, plus good work.
Maybe you did not read properly. I am getting pipped soon. I have been in focus since 2 months, so no turning back now man. Anyways, I wanted to switch myself at some time due to poor WLB

I don't wish to be bombarded with work-load but atleast want to work enough to keep learning and progressing in my career. Cisco does seems like a healthy balance
