Hey Blinders, Anyone feeling kind enough to share some virtual onsite interview experiences at Amazon. I am interviewing for hardware reliability engineer so if you have had a similar interview even better. This is my first virtual interview so I am curious to know what were you not ready for in the virtual interview. #hardware #interview #amazon #virtual#onsite
Sorry what do you mean by LP ?
Leadership principles
Linkin Park, in the end it doesn't even matter
Nobody calls me blinders!
It's a lot of talking and that can wear you out. Just be prepared. My last interviewer showed up late and asked me to stay late to make up for it. I politely declined and they elected not to move forward.
I have done hundreds of interviews at Amazon and I have had a number of situations with delayed slots. (Connection problems, delayed previous slot, late interviewers, etc) If needed, I always ask the candidate if they can stay longer. If not, it's perfectly understandable and doesn't have any negative impact. But if I had less time, it is possible that I couldn't get enough data and that can impact how I see the candidate
How do you know that that specifically was the reason you didn't get an offer?
I recently cleared an interview with Amazon. I can help you.
Can I dm you too?
Sure. Happy to help. DM away!!!
Reliability as in Semiconductor reliability (RV in Intel terms)?
No module mechanical reliability like PCB etc
Ah ok.
Laugh like Bezos
.
I was having video issues during one of my interviews and the interviewer just turned it into a phone call. I thought it would impact me negatively but it did not.
Did you do a Technical Phone Interview? If so is it with video? I have one on Monday and need to know if I should use a computer with a video camera 🤷♀️
How was phone screen?
Had 2 rounds..first was technical screen and the second LP based interview with hiring manager

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Prepare to talk a lot. It gets surprising exhausting in a couple of hours. Focus more on LPs than anything else. You could be technically weak and learn things in Amazon but people have zero tolerance for those who aren’t a good fit for the LP
That much content eh .. thanks for the comment
Not my experience, the LP are just used to ensure you can communicate smoothly and have common sense. Technical drilling has always been where I failed. Eventually they find a tangent subject I have never worked on or read up on.
