Amazon vs MongoDB
Hi I am deciding between two offers. YOE: 0 (new grad offer rescinded) Amazon: 123k base 70k signing over two years (40,30) 36 RSU’s (5/15/40/40) Team is Alexa MongoDB: 130k base 65k stock evenly over 4 years 25k signing ill be working remotely for both companies, so location not too important right now. Once wfh is lifted Amazon is Seattle and MongoDB is Austin. Any thoughts on which one I should go with?

If you don’t mind me asking, was the offer rescinded from Uber? What was Uber’s new grad offer in comparison? I’ve heard great things about work in the Alexa team.

Mongodb is a great company. Atlas Cloud is a really cool product. Checkout Atlas Realm for example. The culture is really great too.. everyone is very down to earth. Stocks year over year have shown significant growth. Stay far away from amazon.. it’s a engineering sweatshop.
Wait when did you get amazon new grad offer? It was 112k base in Seattle until may 2020
With 130 you would live like a king in Texas, here in Seattle you will be stuck in a small apartment and nothing much to do but to hike and watch Netflix.
As opposed to getting COVID at bars or finding yet another BBQ place to eat and get fat at I suppose Just kidding, I lived in San Antonio/Austin for 5 years. I loved it. You really would live like a king with that pay ALTHOUGH this Amazon stock is getting crazy out of control
Go with mongo. You can always jump to amazon if you dislike it.
From what I hear, Alexa is the team to be on... but I can’t speak to their work load, just the work culture I’ve noticed. If it were me, I’d high consider how long I plan to stay at each. If it’s a 4 year vest and leave, go with the higher compensation at first and find a more exciting job after that.
